Fertility Law Canada: Building Families by Surrogacy, Egg, Sperm & Embryo Donation

Helping to Build Families

Welcome to Fertility Law Canada™.

Whether you are a traditional family looking to build your family through non-traditional means, or looking to create or build a non-traditional family, a fertility lawyer can help you to achieve that goal.   For people looking to create or build their family through Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), a team of people is necessary.  When building a family using donor sperm, eggs or embryos, and/or with the help of a surrogate mother or gestational carrier, a fertility lawyer is a critical part of this collaborative team.

A fertility lawyer can help you to navigate the murky waters of third party reproductive law in Canada by:

   - drafting and negotiating egg, sperm and embryo donor agreements;
   - drafting and negotiating surrogacy agreements;
   - providing legal representation in frozen embryo "custody" disputes; and
   - advocating on your behalf.

Some fertility lawyers, myself included, will also assist in establishing the legal parentage of a child born through surrogacy.

It would be my pleasure to help you to create or build your family, or to help another family grow.

In addition, I also provide legal services to the fertility industry, including drafting consent documents, conducting legal research and drafting legal opinions regarding compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
